# Sensorimotor exam

neos® digitizes and automates multiple measurements of ocular alignment, in different gaze positions, with assessment of positive fusional vergence, into a standardized workflow with objective quantitative reporting.1,2

# Built on Established Clinical Practice

A standardized sensorimotor examination is a fundamental component of neuro-ophthalmic assessment. The American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) outlines the established principles of sensorimotor examination3 and its role in clinical practice including in optometry.4

neos® is designed to objectively and quantitatively perform multiple examinations, including ocular alignment and fusional vergence amplitude, as described in the intended use.

For U.S. clinical practice, the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) explains that CPT® 92060 applies to comprehensive sensorimotor examinations involving multiple measurements of ocular deviation, written report and interpretation, highlighting the importance of standardized documentation.5

# Why sensorimotor examinations matter

A sensorimotor examination provides an objective assessment of binocular function and ocular motor control, by measuring how the eyes are aligned, how they move, and how effectively they work together as a functional unit; to help identify potential eye muscle and nerve problems that a regular eye exam may miss.

This examination is an essential component of evaluating patients with diplopia, strabismus, binocular vision and potential neuro-ophthalmic issues, and other conditions affecting eye movements.6

#### Ocular Alignment

Measured at distance in 9 Cardinal positions of gaze

 Hess-style visualizations of strabismus angles

Quantitative assessment of strabismus angles (phorias7 & tropias8)

##### Fusional Vergence

Maximum amount the eyes can converge (positive horizontal fusional vergence) while still maintaining a single, clear image

##### Standardized Workflow

Automated exam with a head-mounted display operated by a technician

Objective eye-movement test that can be integrated into binocular vision assessments

Quantitative reporting and video-oculography recording

- 7[Phoria i.e. a latent (hidden) misalignment of the eyes that only appears when binocular vision is interrupted (i.e., by covering one eye)](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11193068/%20 )
- 8[Tropia i.e. a visible eye misalignment when both eyes are open](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11193068/%20 )

# One workflow. One report.

Quantitative eye movement and binocular vision assessment integrated into one quantitative and easy to read report (neos sensorimotor exam )

- Clear, quantitative, documentation in PDF format
- Enables measurement monitoring over time
- Export PDF and video-oculography recording
- Report data export for additional analysis available

# Built for Ophthalmology, Optometry and Orthoptics

Can be used by various eye health care providers across different pratice settings (clinic/hospital) and age groups (peds/adults/geriatrics)

neos®  standardizes, automates, and quantifies functional eye movements and pupil exams to transform subjective binocular vision assessment into objective, quantitative, and reproducible measurements.

neos® sensorimotor exam supports the evaluation of strabismus, diplopia, binocular vision disorders, and neuro-ophthalmic conditions affecting eye movements.
